National Pharmacy Technician Diploma

This is a 3-year training programme. The previous 2-year Dispenser Training programme has been upgraded to a Diploma level and a first batch of 46 recruits from the Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW) trainees started training in June 2017.

National Diploma in Radiation Therapy Technology

This is a new 3-year diploma programme which was developed by MIH with the help of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Fifthteen students are following the course which is scheduled to end in January 2021.

Certificate Course in Pre-Hospital Emergency Care

This one-year training programme is targeted at 31 fire fighter cadres of the Mauritius Fire and Rescue Services. Launched on 15th July 2020 in the presence of Mr Kehlary, Chief Fire Officer and Dr Samoo, Director SAMU Services, Ministry of Health and Wellness,this course is expected to end by July 2021. Classes are held on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Training for Cooks

A first batch of 21 officers of the MOHW completed their training on 21st January 2021. Two more batches will start their training soon. Training consists of theoretical and practical teaching and lasts 6 months. The programme is offered in collaboration with the Ecole Hôtelière Sir Gaëtan Duval. The final batch is expected to follow the course as from September 2021.

Certificate Course for Speech and Hearing Therapy Assistants

This one-year course targeted at five trainees of the MOHW started in February 2020. It is scheduled to end by January 2021.

Training consists of face to face teaching at the MIH and practical work under direct supervision of experienced Speech and Hearing Therapists/Audiologists in regional hospitals of the Ministry.
