Virtual Health Library Mauritius

Our Virtual Health Library Mauritius (VHLM) is a portal that enables health professionals to access no less than 100 000 e-books, reference materials, open access learning resources and e-journals from international databases such as HINARI, EBSCO and Emerald Insight.

Many of the very popular medical journals are also accessible. These, amongst others, include:

  • Annals of Internal Medicine
  • Academic Medicine
  • Anaesthesia, Pain & Intensive Care
  • British Journal of General Practice
  • British Journal of Neurosurgery
  • Bulletin of the Royal College of Surgeons of England
  • Bulletin of the World Health Organization
  • Canadian Medical Association Journal
  • Cancer Journal
An annual subscription fee applies for the following users:
  1. Tertiary Education Students – Rs 500 per person
  2. Private Health Professionals – Rs 1000 per person
For institutions, a group fee of Rs 5000 will be charged for a maximum of ten users. Mode of payment:
  1. Cash at the Mauritius Institute of Health ( weekdays 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm)
  2. Bank transfer

In order to benefit from the service, users must register through the online application form. The credentials to access the platform will be sent after receiving payment.
